Make an appointment

When choosing a therapist/counsellor/coach, it’s important to find someone who feels like a good “fit.” In addition to reading therapist’s websites and online profiles, I often encourage people to contact therapists for an introductory phone chat, or even to attend an initial session, to get a feel for how you might work together. 

Trust your gut instinct when selecting someone to work with!

Reaching out to a therapist, and considering starting the process of therapy, can sometimes feel anxiety-provoking. It’s helpful to find a therapist with whom you feel as comfortable as possible, though. Ideally, you’ll leave a first session — or possibly even a first phone call — with an increased sense of hope and possibility (even if small) that your life can change for the better.
