When choosing a therapist/counsellor/coach, it’s important to find someone who feels like a good “fit.” I encourage people to shop around by contacting therapists and attending an initial session.
Trust your gut instinct when selecting someone to work with! Therapy or coaching can feel anxiety-provoking, but as a general rule of thumb, it’s helpful to find someone with whom you feel comfortable. Ideally, you’ll leave a first session with an increased sense of hope and possibility (even if small) that your life can change for the better.
